BERESFORD TERRACE

12th October 2016

I first spotted this unique home on the Instagram feed from The Modern House – and even if you’re not looking for a property, this gallery is so inspiring in terms of the architecture and design featured. The first image I saw was the photo below, and I thought, ‘What is this place?’ as I was drawn to the eclectic styling and the patina of the chimney breast with its open fireplace. And that photo led me to this listing from The Modern House.

ÖSTERMALM

9th August 2016

I feel that I should start a hashtag series for all the Scandinavian houses and apartments that I keep drooling over – #ScandiHouseLust perhaps? Because every time I look on Fantastic Frank or Lagerlings or Entrance Mäkleri there’s another gorgeous property beckoning – in fact, scrub that: there are several gorgeous properties beckoning.

Today’s irresistible number is an apartment that I bookmarked several weeks ago while scrolling through Lagerlings – it now appears to have sold as the listing has gone, but I couldn’t resist sharing these photos.

1850s REBORN

26th July 2016

Although aesthetically very different, the previous post I shared here bears a subtle relationship with this space, an apartment in Lyon in France, which I spotted on Vogue Living. Both properties date from the same period (there’s just twelve years between them) and share in their beautiful and at times opulent period detailing, but both have also been redesigned for contemporary living.

HOTEL HENRIETTE

13th July 2016

I’ve been doing some online research recently looking for interesting holiday homes, and I realised that this is one feature that I haven’t covered on the blog: holiday homes, cool hotels, Airbnbs – just amazing places to stay combined with cool and quirky finds. So I’ve added a new STAY category to the blog and thought I’d kick off this theme with a hotel that I would love to escape to: the Hotel Henriette in Paris.

GREY ON GREY

21st May 2016

Parquet flooring: check. Shades of grey painted walls: check. Absolutely gorgeous styling: definitely check. This apartment in the Östermalm district of central Stockholm really was love at first sight. The newly renovated property was marketed by Lagerlings – another new discovery for me. Be warned though – with a combination of beautiful properties and immaculate styling and photography, you can get lost in this estate agency’s website for some time.

‘LITTLE TOWNHOUSE WITH BROOKLYN VIBES’

4th May 2016

Regular readers will know that I tend to rave on about the property agency Fantastic Frank. Well, I’ve now discovered a new Scandi addiction in the incredible properties – and stunning photography and styling – from the Swedish property agent Entrance Mäkleri. You can look at pretty much any property featured on Entrance Mäkleri’s website and want to move in. I know – I’ve just been scanning through trying to decide which one to feature! But this property in Gothenburg caught my eye. Described as a “little townhouse with Brooklyn vibes”, this house is just so – dare I say it – cool, and it’s beautifully styled.
