GILLES & BOISSIER

30th December 2013

There are some interiors that you see cropping up time and again on Tumblr and Pinterest – usually because they’re just so good or interesting that they strike a chord – and this apartment in Paris is one of them. I’ve posted and reblogged images of this space myself on my other blog, and the image above that showcases a large scale photograph of a horse by Steven Klein is one of my favourite interior photos of late. WATER ISLAND

17th December 2013

Every so often you come across a place so gorgeous that one mention just isn’t enough. I first noticed this house online back in April while searching for international properties for sale to feature on my previous blog, and I posted about it then as it was too good to resist. So I’m revisiting (with bigger photos) for those that missed this first time round. Continue Reading…

TUSCAN RETREAT

7th November 2013

Details perfectly summed up the inspiration behind the Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni’s Tuscan home when describing it as such: ‘Ask a child to draw a house and you can expect a rectangle dotted with windows, doors, and a chimney stack with gray Crayola smoke circling out of it. AT HOME WITH DIXIE & RALF

The couple launched Catalog last year and now balance the demands of a retail business that features furniture, lighting, accessories and textiles – including ranges from the likes of Cassina, Kristalia, Foscarini and Santa & Cole – with interior design projects for clients. A TEXTURED APPROACH

17th October 2013

This project has been a favourite of mine for some time – indeed, since I first laid eyes on the images on another site. This dramatically redesigned townhouse in Chelsea in NYC has had its fair share of online coverage (see these posts on HomeDSGN, Afflante and Freshome for starters) so why feature it here? Continue Reading…

APARTMENT IN MANTUA

16th October 2013

The kitchen in this apartment in Mantua in Italy has to be one of my favourite kitchens that I’ve come across this year. Why? Because of the contrasts, where the minimalism of the cabinetry and that gorgeously subtle interplay of greys is played against the character of those rustic roof beams. Continue Reading…
