I’ve been a fan of the Melbourne-based development company Neometro since I came across their development on Smith Street, Fitzroy, which was completed in 2013. Neometro is one of Melbourne’s most design-focused and socially-led developers – the company has been involved in developing and supporting social and community initiatives since launching in 1985. Their residential projects are both beautiful and timeless, as evident by their latest (dare I say lustworthy) development at Six Brookville Road in Toorak in Melbourne.

From the herringbone parquet flooring to the finely grained timber and marble finishes, this apartment photographed is all about refined and elegant contemporary design. The development has six homes, and each has been designed with generous outdoor spaces that extend the living areas, while the penthouse apartment includes an expansive terrace that wraps around the perimeter of the building.

Of course, it helps that this apartment has such wonderful natural light. I remember being struck by the amazing light when I wrote about Smith Street two years ago – it has to be said, the light in Melbourne looks particularly incredible when you’re writing a post on a grey spring day in Scotland! I was also struck by the gorgeous styling. Neometro just do this so well, enhancing the natural palette of materials and the crisp detailing with understated contemporary furniture and lighting and large scale artworks. Dream home anyone?
