Take One

INCOMING

26th December 2022

During the locked down weeks and months of 2020, I walked to this harbour often. And whenever I was here, there were always other people doing the same: standing at the sea wall, gazing out to sea, or sitting on a bench, quietly absorbing the view across the harbour.

I don’t walk here as often now, but on the days when I do stride along to Fisherrow to clear my head after hours spent peering at a screen, this place can still settle the mind. And on this afternoon a few weeks ago, arriving here as the light was fading and watching the tide seeping into the harbour, ripple by ripple, I couldn’t resist capturing this quiet moment.

Fisherrow Harbour, East Lothian.
