THE GREEN RANGE

I’ve long been an admirer of Tom Raffield’s lighting designs – indeed, I have my eye on the curvaceous and fluid Skipper pendant for the new yoga space – so I was interested to see the design studio launching a new product collection called The Green Range. This collection again showcases the brand’s signature curves and traditional steam bending craftsmanship but with a new addition: ceramics.

BERT & MAY X CONRAN

This year, as we’ve been looking at moving, every property we’ve seriously considered has sent me into redesign mode. Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring… my head has been full of ideas for different types of spaces, and one of the design features I’ve kept coming back to again and again is geometric tiling.

So this new collaboration between Bert & May and The Conran Shop was bound to catch my eye. Designed by The Conran Shop and created by Bert & May’s skilled makers, the collection – which is currently showcased at Bert & May’s east London showroom on Vyner Street during London Design Festival (until 24th September) – features six designs in three complementary colourways.

CRAFTED IN BROOKLYN

In my previous post I mused briefly on the meaning of luxury, and how the term can mean different things to different people. While this apartment in Brooklyn isn’t for sale or available to let, for me this space is a fitting partner to my last post as it showcases features that I’d consider ‘luxurious’: beautiful materials, and equally beautiful handcrafted detailing to create a home that feels ‘crafted’ while retaining a sense of simplicity.
