MONTROSE AVENUE

11th November 2015

When I was thinking about this post, I realised that I very rarely share properties that are available to let, which is odd as I’m one of those people who has been renting for years. But I don’t always see rental properties that are really exciting in terms of their interior design, or when I do, sometimes the photography that’s available isn’t that great.

So you can understand why this property on Montrose Avenue in London’s Queen’s Park caught my eye. The agent for this property, Domus Nova, always has the most gorgeous rental properties that are just as beautifully photographed as those that are for sale. And this particular house – which is available as a long term let – also has a cool and immaculately styled interior.

POWIS MEWS

15th October 2015

Sometimes a property comes onto the market that is so unique, you know there’s simply nothing else out there quite like it. This kind of property often involves a visionary architect behind its design, or a visionary homeowner. BOVINGDON ROAD

9th October 2015

Style. Some interiors just have it. Indeed, some interiors just ooze it. The flow, the materials and sense of craftsmanship, the furnishings and lighting and the styling touches – it all adds up, and this house on Bovingdon Road in London’s Hammersmith & Fulham offers one of those interiors. Selling agent Domus Nova describes the property as “sensational” and, as these photos show, this four bedroom house certainly matches that description.

PARK STREET

10th September 2015

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted here, and I’ve been longing to share this incredible property. If you’ve been following Copperline for a while  – since back in The Property Files days – you’ll know that I’m a huge admirer of Georgian architecture (I recently wrote a guest blog post on the subject) and I’m always interested to see the results when someone takes on a Georgian building and transforms it into a contemporary home. That combination can result in some unique and exciting living spaces, where the modern elements sit harmoniously alongside the original period shell, and this property on Park Street in London’s SE1 is a striking example of how to breathe new life into a Georgian property.

CLARENDON WORKS

21st November 2014

From a former print works to a Victorian brickmaking factory, regular readers might detect a theme in the last few posts here on the Files. I’ll admit, warehouse or loft living is a style that I’m instinctively drawn to. Years ago, back in 1999, I wrote about a loft development in Edinburgh’s Leith area – the development of two former whisky bonds – and that, for me, was the moment where I fell for the whole concept of loft living. I love the industrial styling and the patina of brick and timber contrasted with crisp contemporary finishes. I’ve been back to Leith Lofts several times since to write about individual properties, as well as loft spaces elsewhere, and it’s a look and style I’ve always admired. Continue Reading…
