BLOCKS

14th December 2017

Back in September I featured the new wallpaper collection from UK textile company Flock, who work with an eclectic mix of artists, designers and recent graduates to create a bold and beautiful collection of textiles for interiors. Flock has since launched a new collection called Blocks – a Yorkshire wool textile that’s available as a throw and cushion, and also to purchase by the metre.

As Flock’s founder and creative director Jenny Wingfield says: “Blocks is our first adventure into woven patterned fabrics and the process of creating a design for weave, with all its restrictions and formalities, has been incredibly fun. We’ve worked closely with the wonderful design team at Bute Fabrics, based on Bute Island in Scotland to develop this clean and dynamic pattern. Woven on the island using beautifully soft and strong Yorkshire wool, the design encapsulates the spirit of Flock and our love of simplistic geometric pattern and colour.”

The new 100% wool fabric is fully reversible to reveal a bolder and more intense palette of jades, turquoises and teals on one side and mellow hues of mint, grey and orange tones on the other side. I’m instantly drawn to this geometric design, and particularly the reversible throw, which features twisted fringing along the width edge. The throw is now £228 while the cushions are £120 each and measure 60x40cm. Or you can buy the fabric, which is 137cm wide, for £116 p/m.
